Night Topographics: Artificial Light
The quintessential landscape has long been a richly detailed scene drenched in sunlight. However, the landscapes that interest me the most are ones that pose, rather than answer, questions; landscapes that obscure, rather than elucidate.
With “Night Topographics: Artificial Light,” I focus on scenes that are only visible because of artificial light. The implications of artificial lighting are vast, and the reasons we use it are numerous. My photographs encourage viewers to stop and consider how our use of lighting has forever changed how humans see and experience the night landscape.
